How to Attend K-pop Music Shows in Korea as a Foreigner (2026 Guide)
Last checked: 2026-10-31
Quick answer
- The route we could confirm in 2026 is the artist's fan club notice on Weverse or a fan cafe. It usually appears only a few days before the show.
- Foreigners are not shut out. 2026 notices for all five main shows list a passport as valid ID for non-Korean nationals. The hard part is the conditions: membership, album purchases and sometimes Melon records.
- A notice covers only that artist and that date. You can't plan a trip around getting in.
- Don't pay anyone for a spot. Notices ban transfers, paid entry numbers and proxy applications.
Status by show (checked 30 October 2026)
| Show | Channel, day | Check-in area in notices | Latest notice we read | Passport listed for foreigners? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Music Bank | KBS2, Friday | KBS New Building public hall, Yeouido | 11 Sept 2026 | Yes (SHINee, ENHYPEN) |
| Inkigayo | SBS, Sunday | SBS public hall, Deungchon-dong | 25 Oct 2026 | Yes (SEVENTEEN, CUTIE STREET) |
| M Countdown | Mnet, Thursday | CJ ENM Center, Sangam-dong | 8 Oct 2026 | Yes (BOYNEXTDOOR, ENHYPEN) |
| Show Champion | MBC M, Wednesday | MBC Dream Center, Ilsan | 7 Oct 2026 | Yes (TIOT, ENHYPEN) |
| Show! Music Core | MBC, Saturday | MBC new headquarters, Sangam-dong | 24 Oct 2026 | Yes (SEVENTEEN, CUTIE STREET) |
| The Show | SBS Life, Tuesday | SBS Prism Tower, Sangam-dong | 6 Oct 2026 | Not stated in the notice we read |
The fan club route is the only one we confirmed for every show. Venues can change, and some notices send the exact spot by Weverse push on the day.
How a fan club recording works
A pre-recording films one stage before the broadcast, sometimes in the middle of the night. A live broadcast spot means you watch the show as it airs, usually with far fewer places.
- Join the artist's community and read each notice. Conditions change per album and per show.
- Apply in the stated window, in Korea time (KST). Copy the sample format exactly. You can't edit after you submit.
- Check your result and number in your event entries on Weverse.
- Go to check-in with your ID and proof. Staff verify you and may give a wristband or stamp.
- Wait, then enter in number order. You usually can't leave until the recording ends.

What actually stops foreign fans
- Age: most notices say 15+, but applicants outside Korea and the US must be 16+. A guardian can't make up the difference.
- Album rules: some notices count only Weverse purchases made with KR shipping or pickup.
- Melon: some notices ask for Melon streaming or download records and a printout of your Melon profile page.
- Other apps: one notice required a 100-day subscription on fromm, shown live in the app.
- Timing: windows can be 10 minutes, one to two days before the show. Lottery notices are kinder to overseas fans because the window is longer.
- Korean phone number: the fan club notices we read don't list it as a condition.
Direct applications to broadcasters
We found no current public application page from KBS, SBS, MBC or Mnet. Don't go to a station hoping to walk in: the notices we read for live broadcasts rule out on-site entry.
Check-in and queue rules
- Check-in slots follow your number. Arriving after your slot counts as late.
- Latecomers line up behind everyone else and enter last, if they enter at all.
- Don't form your own line. TXT's notices ban it.
- A win isn't a guaranteed seat. Standby places may not get in, and entry to live broadcasts depends on the day.
- Keep your wristband. Lost or damaged wristbands restrict entry.
- Early check-ins can fall before the first trains, so see our taxi guide.
- No-shows can bring penalties on future events.
What to bring
- Original, unexpired passport. Photos, copies and printouts are rejected. Your name must match the application. If you joined with an English name, a passport is often the only ID accepted.
- Proof the notice asks for: membership in the app (screenshots rejected), album, printouts.
- Official light stick, if required and with batteries.
What's banned
- Filming, photos and audio recording. Recording devices, and in some notices phones and smartwatches, can't go into the studio. Violators are removed, files are deleted, and they can be barred from future shows. One notice sets a six-month ban for filming or recording.
- Personal banners, slogans, phone LED boards, dolls and fans. Often only the official light stick is allowed.
- Gifts other than letters passed through staff.
- Sharing what you saw on stage. Some notices ban it, and one required an NDA.
- Rushing artist vehicles. This is grounds for a ban.
You may also appear on camera. Apply only if you accept that.
Scams
- Entry numbers for sale: SEVENTEEN's notice says numbers that are transferred or obtained through payment are not valid.
- Why be careful: foreign scam victims rose from 5,307 in 2023 to 19,907 in 2025, and some cases involved K-pop tickets and goods (police data via the Korea Economic Daily and Korea JoongAng Daily, June 2026). In 2023, fans including some from abroad could not enter SBS Gayo Daejeon because of fake tickets.
