K-pop Fansign and Video Call Events: How Foreigners Can Enter (2026 Guide)
Last checked: 2026-10-31
Quick answer
- Most fansigns are draws among people who bought a specific album from a named retailer. The artist's notice lists the retailer, the product and the deadline.
- Foreigners can enter many events. 2026 notices accept a passport from non-Korean nationals. Check each notice, because some exclude US delivery addresses.
- Under Weverse rules, each eligible album adds one entry, but no number of albums guarantees a win. Sellers don't publish applicant numbers or odds.
- Video calls usually last about one minute per member, though some events run five minutes. They mostly run on KakaoTalk. In-person events need you in Korea, and the venue may come only after the results.
- Proxy entry, transfers and resale are banned. Albums usually can't be returned if you lose, so buy only what you want to keep.
Types of event
| Type | What happens | Typical size in 2026 notices | Phone and filming |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private in-person fansign | You sit with the artists and get an album signed | 30 to 50 winners | Phones and recording devices left in the waiting area |
| Video call fansign | A short call on your phone | 50 winners, or 30 per member | Organiser may record every call |
| Public fansign | Stage event at a public venue, such as a shopping mall | Seats by winning ticket | Filming allowed from your seat, not while waiting or being signed |
Some events add extras such as 1:1 photo sessions or album decorating. MJ's schedule, for example, listed six retailers with different formats. Treat each retailer's event as a separate draw.
How entry works
- Find the notice. It appears on the artist's Weverse or fan cafe page and names the retailer, such as Weverse Shop, Withmuu, Makestar or Ktown4u.
- Buy the exact product in the window. Other versions don't count. In TXT's October event, in-person and video call used different products. Withmuu's TWS event counted only one version.
- Submit the entry form. Buying is often not enough. Weverse and Withmuu notices require a separate entry, logged in with the buying account. You can't change submitted details.
- Check the results. Winners appear in the notice and your event entries (Weverse), on the winners board (Withmuu), or on the retailer's website (Makestar, Ktown4u).
- Prepare. Winners get instructions by message. Don't assume a late reply is fine.
Dates from 2026 notices (KST):
| Event | Seller | Entry window | Results | Event day | Winners |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TXT 'PERFECT STORM' | Weverse Global | 20 Oct to 5 Nov | 16 Nov | 27 Nov | 50 per event |
| TWS 'TO US' | Weverse Global | 7 to 25 Oct | After 2 Nov | 9 Nov | 30 per member |
| TWS 'TO US' | Withmuu | 26 to 28 Oct | 29 Oct | 13 Nov | 30 per member |
| AND2BLE 2nd mini album | Makestar | 8 to 10 Oct | 12 Oct | See notice | 85 by random draw |
| TREASURE 'NEW WAV' | Weverse Global | 11 to 13 May | 14 May | See notice | 50 |
Some of these windows have closed. They show the pattern, not current openings.
Do more albums improve your chances?
Here is what's confirmed:
- Weverse notices count entries by the number of eligible products, not orders. Withmuu and Makestar notices describe entries from album purchases, and AND2BLE's says "a random draw."
- You can enter for several members and win more than once in some events (TWS).
- No notice we read publishes total entries or the chance of winning.
So treat a win as uncertain at any spending level. Set your limit before you buy, and don't buy for the entry alone.
Where foreign fans get stuck
| Point | What notices say | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The English name must match your ID. Korean names can't be used | Enter it exactly as in your passport |
| ID | Passport or alien registration card. Physical and unexpired. No photos or copies | Keep your passport with you, even for a video call. Staff check it before connecting you |
| Phone | A valid mobile number. The notices we read don't say it must be Korean | Use a number that gets messages abroad. Check the notice if unsure |
| KakaoTalk | A KakaoTalk ID is needed for most video calls. Withmuu also lists WeChat | Set it up before the entry window and confirm it works on your number |
| KakaoTalk settings | TXT's winners must allow ID search and friend requests by number at least 2 hours before | Change settings before the event |
| Address | TXT and TWS Weverse events exclude US delivery addresses | Check before buying |
| Age | TXT: 13+, with a local minimum of 14 in Korea, 13 in the US, 16 elsewhere | A guardian can't override this |
| Timing | In-person venues can be told to winners later. Results can come days before the event | Book changeable travel, or book nothing until you win |
Create your account before the entry window, so a blocked sign-up doesn't cost you the event.
Rules on the day
In-person
- Bring your original ID. Only the winner can attend.
- TREASURE's notice tells you to leave phones, cameras and recording devices in the waiting area, including Bluetooth earphones and smartwatches. Hidden devices can mean deleted data and removal.
- Expect device checks.
- Fan goods may need to be handed in first, and staff can exclude items. Sticky notes and requests beyond signing weren't accepted at TWS's public event.
Video call
- Be ready early. If Withmuu can't reach you after two attempts, the next winner goes first. You get one more try, then you lose the call.
- Withmuu says all calls are recorded and can be ended for inappropriate content.
- The notices we read don't say whether fans may record calls. Don't assume you can.
Public fansign
- Bring your winning ticket and ID. Ktown4u and TWS notices allow filming from your seat but not in line or while being signed. Ladders were banned at Times Square.
Proxy services, resale and refunds
- Proxy and transfer: winning rights can't be applied for, collected, transferred or sold through others. Applying through third-party agency sites can void a win.
- Buying for profit: TXT's notice warns of cancelled orders, account limits and possible legal action.
- Makestar event rules: AND2BLE's notice treats ticket transfer as fraud.
- Refunds: Weverse lets you cancel before results, but your entries may go. After results, event products can't be refunded. Withmuu says albums can't be returned if you lose.
- Scams: the Korea Herald (June 2026) reported fans who sent money to intermediaries for K-pop goods or tickets and lost it when the sellers vanished. Don't send money to anyone promising a guaranteed win.
FAQ
Can foreigners join K-pop fansigns?
Often yes. 2026 notices from Weverse, Withmuu, Ktown4u and Makestar events include passport rules for non-Korean nationals. Conditions differ, so read the notice before you buy.
Does buying more albums guarantee a fansign win?
No. More eligible albums can mean more entries, but no seller promises a win or publishes the odds. If you lose, you usually keep the albums.
Do I need a Korean phone number for a video call?
The notices we read ask for a valid mobile number and a KakaoTalk ID, without saying the number must be Korean. Rules can differ, so check each notice.
What's the difference between in-person and video call events?
In-person events mean a trip to Korea and no phone at the table. Video calls run on your own phone, usually last about a minute per member (some events run five minutes), and still need your passport for the ID check.
